Authorized Testing Inc. performed the burst testing on this CNC-machined elbow. Both ends of the elbow were sealed before the test, and water was pushed into the elbow until it failed. The S&B elbow could withstand up to300 pounds of pressure before cracking at the weld. No more than 30 psi would be seen in a basic truck. No more than 100 psi should be seen on a truck with all the bells and whistles.
