The B&M 45199 Precision SportShifter For G56 helps to reduce shifter travel in your G56 equipped 2005.5-2018 Dodge 5.9/6.7L Diesel. This shifter is manufactured from durable, 6061 T-6 hardened aluminum and CNC-machined for a precise fit and anodized blue for durability and a custom look. The internal components are composed of exceptionally durable 4140 Chromoly, and the shift-throw is reduced by almost 30% compared to the OEM shifter. B&M also raised the detent pressure to provide the transmission a substantially stiffer shift feel and keep the trans from jumping out of gear. The factory shift stick and knob are retained, and the shifter comes with a Lifetime Limited Warranty.

Tech Tip: While you do not have to drain the fluid in your G56 transmission to install this shifter, many will drain and refill the transmission as it's easy to fill through the shifter tower while it's out. Your transmission will take 6 quarts of fluid for a fill. It is common in the aftermarket for many to run an additional quart bringing the transmission fill to 7 quarts total to help reduce gear rollover noise common with upgraded aftermarket clutches. This is based entirely on personal preference. If you choose to add the extra fluid, Only 6 quarts will it when utilizing the fill hole, the final quart will need to be filled through the shift tower.
