The Story

The Banks 42830 Dual Heater Upgrade Kit will help improve the cold-weather starts in your Dodge Ram 2500/3500/4500/5500 6.7L Diesel. The Banks 750 Watt Heater Upgrade Kit for your Monster-Ram for cold-weather starts in temperatures as low as -30F/-34C with block heat and -20F/-29C without block heat.

Built To Survive
This bolt-on heating element kit requires no maintenance. Unlike the factory grid heater that came in your truck, which can fail and potentially destroy your engine, the Banks coil heaters are designed to fail safely, dodging catastrophic engine damage.

How It Works
Adding this Dual Heater Upgrade Kit to your truck doubles your Banks Monster-Ram's heat output from 750 watts to 1500 watts.

Cold Weather Starting Recommendations
RAM's block heating recommendations served as the foundation for the construction of the Banks Dual-Heat Upgrade Kit. RAM recommends using a block heater at OF/-17C and requires its use at -20F/-29C. Failure to follow these directions could lead to premature wear and/or failure of key components, such as pistons, rings, and cylinder walls.

Using a controlled climate chamber, Banks’ first test used a block heater and two Banks coil heaters (1500 watts total). The Monster-Ram allowed our test truck to cold start down to -30F/-34C. Against RAMs recommendations, Banks also attempted to cold start with the same two coil heaters and no block heat, and they were able to cold start down to -20F/-29C.

All tests were made with two intake air pre-heat cycles per the owner's manual. Intake air temperature is just one aspect contributing to a successful cold start. Individual results may vary.
