The Fleece FPE-SF-CUMM-0304 SureFlo Performance Sending Unit will eliminate the low fuel level issues you have in your 2003-2004 Dodge 5.9L Diesel. Your truck will need a draw straw or to drill the fuel tank to accommodate a sump if you are running an externally mounted aftermarket lift pump. Both options have disadvantages including cavitation inside the pump when air is drawn into the fuel system due it being below a 1/4 tank.

The Fleece FPE-SF-CUMM-0304 SureFlo Performance Sending Units is a direct ft replacement for 2003-2004 stock sending unit location and is engineered to work with aftermarket lift pumps. This sending unit offers a clean installation with no cutting or drilling of the tank required as the OEM-style quick disconnects that adapt to the factory fuel lines at the tank. This unit operates by extracting fuel from the bucket assembly at the unit's base and returning it to the bucket assembly. This ensures that fuel is pulled into the pump rather than air into the fuel lines, and it also eliminates the possibility of 1/4 tank problems. One-way check valves in the SureFlo sending unit allows diesel to flow in readily even at low fuel levels.
