New transmissions need to be serviced. If you've purchased a transmission from us and have between 500 and 1,500 miles on it, now's the time for a transmission service kit.
Even if your transmission is well-used, it's almost certain to benefit from a service. When worn-out transmissions are turned in to us for cores, we regularly find that poor maintenance was a major reason the transmission failed. Clutch debris buildup will plug the transmission filter, causing pump starvation, low line pressure, and damage. A restricted transmission filter problem can exist for a long period of time, only to become apparent after it's too late.
